The Teen Team will continue to work on its own and it will unite with the elder artists of the Maskers community in both workshops and full fledged productions of intergenerational theater.
Roots & Branches Theater founded by author, actor and playwright Arthur Strimling is internationally recognized for its rare combination of community outreach and artistic excellence. This program mines the wisdom and experience, energy, daring, and passion of elder and young actors, writers and technicians to create shows that speak to all generations.
Maskers have chosen to incorporate the innovative concepts of this program with our already developed intergenerational theater to inspire all Maskers in appreciating, respecting and sharing in the strengths of all ages.
The Teen Team meets once a month (normally the first Saturday from 10-12 noon at the Maskers Theater). The program is under the directorship of educator, Jennifer Tibbetts. Artistic Director Aynne Ames acts as liaison to the elders. Both advisors will work in conjunction on intergenerational events.
