Aynne Ames Artistic Director
Aynne is a Maine native and has lived here most of her life. She was born and brought up in Falmouth Foreside, lived in Yarmouth and Bucksport for short stints and has spent most of her life as a resident of Castine. In Castine, weary of traveling in order to be involved in shows, she and a friend founded Cold Comfort Productions which began as a community theater but soon evolved into a professional, resident, summer stock theater presenting five or more productions throughout the summer. This stock company which was in residence at Maine Maritime Academy was active for over 20 years and in addition to its adult company, created a resident youth theater camp which ran two week sessions for over 14 years.
After raising her two children, Matthew and Allison, she returned to college getting her theater degree from the University of Maine and then attended the prestigious American School of Classical studies in Athens, Greece where she received a certificate for advanced studies in Ancient Theater.
Throughout the years, Aynne has taught theater at Maine Maritime Academy, The Adams School, George Stevens Academy, TASIS International School in Kifissia, Greece and The Storm King School in Conrnwall on Hudson, New York. She has been fortunate enough to receive many honors for her theater work both in the states and abroad, including the first ever Helen Hayes Educational Impact Award for her work "in developing and nurturing creativity in young people through theater".
Returning to Maine in 2003, Aynne accepted the position of Artistic and Managing director for Belfast Maskers (2004) where she has helped to develop Teen and Outreach programs as well as direct several productions per year. Aynne plans to stay in this area for several years and upon retirement join her children and grandchildren wherever they may be.

Martin Gottlieb
Martin Gottlieb moved to Stockton Springs, ME as a full-time resident in January, 2003 after taking an early retirement as Vice President and Counsel from John Hancock Financial Services in Boston. Living in the Boston area or over 35 yrs., he was a faithful and long-time season subscriber to the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Ballet and a small theatre company called The Speakeasy Theatre. As a financial contributor to these artistic organizations, and as a volunteer with the Ballet as Dancer Liaison, he had an opportunity to meet informally with performers, artistic directors, business staff and Board members to discuss the strengths and development (in the broader sense) needs and future direction of these groups. During the ‘80's he was music and choir director of the UU Church in Medfield, MA.

Nell Moore
Nell Moore is an artist who has been an amateur (in the best sense of the word) of college and community theater since she was a student at McGill University, where she fell in love with costumes. A dozen years later when she lived in New York, she completed a professional course in costume design and construction. It wasn’t until 1990, after more than a decade of studying and practicing architecture in New York, Boston, and Camden, Maine that she began her career with the Belfast Maskers as a set designer. She joined the Maskers’ Board soon after that, and served until 2005. She rejoined this year. Since moving to Maine in 1984 she has served on the Planning Board of Northport, been President of Artfellows’ cooperative gallery in Belfast, and currently serves on the Belfast Planning Board’s Intown Design Review Committee.
Nell believes that Theatre, along with poetry, dance, music, and the visual arts, is a vital ingredient in the life of a community. Theatre is the one place where all the arts can and must be practiced collaboratively, not only encouraging and nurturing creativity in the participants, but fostering community spirit and educating actors, crew, and audience.
